Hex Head Lag Bolts are also called Lag Screws and are recommended for all types of wood or metal to wood construction where standard wood or deck screws are too short or light and where nails or spikes lack sufficient strength. They can be installed in wood with pre-drilled pilot holes or in masonry with lag shields. 18.8 stainless steel material has excellent corrosion resistant qualities and is an excellent choice for general use and outdoor applications.
- Pre-drilling a pilot hole is often required before driving a lag bolt into material to prevent splitting or damaging the wood or to ensure accurate placement
- Hex head allows them to be driven into wood or other soft materials with the aid of a wrench or socket, creating a robust and secure connection
- Lag bolts are typically used in construction and woodworking projects where a strong bond is necessary between two pieces of material, especially when one of the materials is wood
