November 25, 2008 - Weber Supply Company Inc. announces the acquisition of Knight Safety Ltd., Richmond, British Columbia.
Knight Safety is a full line safety distributor of products ranging from personal safety, fall protection, confined space, signs and identification, and traffic safety. The business will operate as Knight Safety a division of Weber Supply Company Inc.
Knight has built a solid reputation in the Greater Vancouver area and with the addition of more brand name suppliers and new product categories Knight will now be in a position to offer both existing and new customers a much broader offering. Knight Safety will also be able to offer their customers an array of value added services such as; documented cost savings, in-plant training, comprehensive reporting, bar coding technology, vending machines and E-commerce solutions.
Chad Hunter has been hired by Weber Supply and appointed to the position of district sales manager and will oversee the entire operation. As a resident and well-respected member of the Vancouver community, Chad brings many years experience in the industrial, safety and retail fields. He was instrumental in opening the Weber Supply location in Winnipeg in 2004, and had since relocated back to British Columbia. Chad will report directly to Senior Vice-President, Dan Amatruda of Weber Supply.
The expansion will position The Weber Group of Companies, into five provinces in Canada, spanning from Ontario to British Columbia. This new location will add a further diversification to its customer base and will better serve the commitment to their valued suppliers as they strengthen their market base in Western Canada.
