April 30, 2009 - Weber Supply Company Inc. announces the opening of its newest branch in Tiverton, Ontario.
Weber Supply has formed a strategic alliance with IFS Global Systems LLC. IFS is a safety products distributor based in Twinsburg, Ohio and has been a preferred supplier to Bruce Power for the last number of years. Through this alliance Bruce Power has invited IFS and Weber Supply to participate in their new industrial park initiative. Bruce Powers’ goal of this consolidation initiative is to have a very limited number of their preferred suppliers set up a stocking location close to their site where their employees and contractors will be able to source all of their product needs. The business will operate as IFS Weber Supply a division of Weber Supply Company Inc.
David Errington has been appointed to the position of Branch Supervisor. Dave resides locally and is a well-respected member of his community. Additional staff has been transferred from other Weber locations to support this operation. The team collectively brings more than 50 years of experience to this operation. This new team will report directly to Mike Tusch, Vice-President, Sales – Southwestern Ontario Division of Weber Supply.
This new location will serve the needs of Bruce Power and will add a further diversification to Weber Supply’s customer base and will better serve the commitment to their valued suppliers as they strengthen their market base in Canada.
Bruce Power is Canada’s first private nuclear generator. The 2,300-acre site near Tiverton houses the Bruce A and B generating stations, which each hold four CANDU reactors. Six of those units are currently operational and combine to produce more than 4,700 megawatts, which is enough to power every fifth hospital, home and school in Ontario. They are also in the process of restarting the remaining two units at Bruce A, which will provide another 1,500 megawatts of emission-free electricity.
