November 10, 2006 - Weber Supply Company Inc. announces the purchase of a ten acre parcel of land in Kitchener's "Huron Business Park".
Due to recent developments on the adjacent industrial lands to the existing facility, it has been determined that any further development or expansion on the current Queen Street location is not practical or feasible. The present facility is situated on approximately 4 acres in a predominately residential area and due to previous constraints was built with multiple floors which presents ongoing challenges. A new, single floor facility will lend greater efficiencies to the business, and the additional acreage will provide room for expansion for many years to come.
The new ten acre site will be held indefinitely and will conceivably become the new home for the head office and distribution centre.
The decision to relocate the current operation to the new site is dependant on the ability to realize fair market value for the existing facility. The Queen Street property has been listed for sale. It is anticipated that a move of this magnitude will take between two to five years to realize. In the meantime, it is business as usual on Queen Street.
This is extremely positive news for Weber Supply and will certainly be a major event in the history of the company.
